While some other systems allow you to create a short-term care plan (some just single-day plans), the PayDC system allows you to create a comprehensive care plan. This complies with insurance laws and also allows you to create a more comprehensive payment plan for the patient based upon the total anticipated cost of care.<\/p>\n

The unique thing about PayDC is its focus on the Compliant Care Plan. It is the heart and soul of the documentation portion of the system, based on federal law and put into a \u201cwizard\u201d format.<\/p>\n

This enables fast and easy creation of Care Plans while improving compliance since the system was built following the requirements for Medicare\u2019s code of federal regulation for chiropractic and outpatient rehabilitation.<\/p>\n

What is a Care Plan? The Care Plan is essentially the way the doctor \u201ctells the story\u201d of how they\u2019re going to help the patient get better. It\u2019s supposed to be designed as a best-case scenario. What would ideally happen for that patient in helping them to get better? How would they progress through the different stages of care? Both passive care, then maybe moving into active care and finally into wellness care.<\/p>\n

Providers should follow the wizard step-by-step in answering the questions and then create templates. They can follow and use the templates for future patients. Under CarePlan Preferences<\/strong>, change the CarePlan Reports Header<\/strong> field if you want it to display something other than the default. The CarePlan Reports Header <\/strong>displays at the top of the Care Plan Narrative<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Once this box is checked, a pop up will warn you at the extra visit when you click [Add Notes\/Exams]<\/strong> from the Patient Account <\/strong>screen and the visit count will change to red in the workflow.<\/p>\n

Why are care plans important?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Care plans are at the heart of the PayDC workflow. They lay the foundation for daily notes, which in turn form the basis for claim creation in the billing module. Federal law, state boards, and individual health plans require providers to create care plans and PayDC was designed to flow smoothly while satisfying these regulatory bodies.<\/p>\n

PayDC uses a wizard to guide providers through the steps necessary to either select a pre-existing care plan template or build a new one from scratch. It has built in Medicare guidelines for chiropractic and outpatient rehabilitation so that you don\u2019t have to think about them.<\/p>\n

Think of a care plan like a story that tells how the provider will get the patient better. It should start as a best-case scenario, the provider\u2019s ideal path for the patient to follow if everything progresses as expected.
