Meaningful Use July 1st Deadline for Incentive Payments

If you’re a Medicare provider, you have less than 1 month left to start the Meaningful Use (MU) program. And while Meaningful Use can have a significant financial impact on your practice, you don’t need to make a huge investment in an EHR or change your existing office workflow to qualify for incentives and avoid penalties. By July 1, you must activate a Certified EHR system for 2014. Failing to meet this deadline will adversely affect your business:

You will not be eligible to receive Medicare incentive payments this year or for any subsequent year of participation if you are unable to show meaningful use for 90 days in 2014.

You will face payment adjustment penalties in 2015.
